Traditional Mi’kmaw Meals

CodDelicious and flavourful foods, from land and sea, have always been a part of the Mi’kmaw culture of this area. From the land our people hunted game animals such as deer, rabbits, and also gathered wild vegetables and nuts. The Bay of Fundy, and the waters connected to it, yielded a variety of fish and shellfish such as lobster, scallops, salmon and clams.
