Eagle Feather

The feather of the Eagle is used in Mi’kmaw ceremonies to deliver messages to the Creator.

The drum is a symbol of spiritual strength, which represents the heartbeat of Mother Earth and helps to send messages to the Creator.

Pipe

Pipe

The pipe is earned by participating in a number of spirituality practices such as sweat lodge and fasting ceremonies. The Pipe is a sacred object to the Mi’kmaq. When lit, the thoughts and prayers of its user are sent to the Creator through the pipe smoke.

Sweet Grass

Sweet Grass

Found in marshy areas, Sweet Grass is usually woven into a braid. When burned, its fragrant, sweet smoke is used to cleanse both body and spirit.
