Mi’kmaw spirituality encompasses all aspects of life for our people. We believe that all living things are made by the Creator. People, animals and the Earth itself all have a spirit and are connected to one another. This never-ending connection is represented by the circle, an important symbol throughout Mi’kmaw culture.

In order to express our beliefs and communicate with the Creator, we hold various types of ceremonies, where we use sacred objects.
