The picturesque village of Bear River, with its riverside buildings resting on stilts, is a haven to many local artisans who are, no doubt, inspired by the beauty that surrounds them everyday. Bear River is only minutes away from Digby, home of the famous Digby scallop, and the majestic Bay of Fundy which boasts the world’s higest tides. Bear River is also in close proximity to the scenic Annapolis Valley and its celebrated apple harvest as well as other local sites and attractions.

This special place has been home to the Mi’kmaq since the beginning of time. Our heritage, culture and spirit are imprinted here– we have walked through its vast forests, fished in its fast-flowing rivers, and have ridden the tides of the Bay of Fundy in our birch bark canoes.
